Medina Lake was constructed between 1911-1912 as an irrigation reservoir. An extensive canal system delivers water to 34,000 acres of blackland prairie farmlands below the Balcones escarpment around Castroville, La Coste, Natalia, and Devine, Texas. Portions of the canal extend to urban San Antonio, just outside Loop 1604.
Fishing is great at Lake Medina. It's even better when you have a guide! There are numerous guide services who can show you where the fish are. Lake Medina guides live and breathe fishing and are on the water every day. Let a fishing guide do all the work involved in a fishing adventure while all you do is set your hook and let your line fly!
